The silent
auction
A hall full of wrapped baskets, hand-painted stoneware and donated treasures, each with a bid sheet beside it. Write your number, come back before closing, and find out whether anyone outbid you.
How it works
- 01
Find something you want
Everything is laid out on tables in the parish hall, from wrapped gift baskets to Bolesławiec pottery, amber, art and donated goods.
- 02
Write your bid
Each item has a sheet beside it. Add your name, your phone number and your bid. Bids go up in the increments printed on the sheet.
- 03
Keep an eye on it
People come back through the weekend to outbid each other. The sheets stay out until the auction closes on Sunday afternoon.
- 04
Win and collect
Winners are announced at the hall and paid for on the spot. Everything raised goes back into the parish and next year's festival.
What comes up for bid
From the parish hall in September 2023.

Donate a piece
The auction is built entirely from donations. Handmade work, art, traditional craft and Polish imports find the most enthusiastic bidders, but a good basket always does well.
Where the money goes
Proceeds from the auction go back into the parish and into running the next festival — the kitchen, the stage, and the ensembles who travel in to perform.
